Question No tail or instrument lights - uggg

On my g/f 2005 Focus stationwagon, no lights on the instrument cluster & no tail lights when the lights are turned on (both sides). All the fuses are good. The light bulbs are good (even swapped in a new one) and the hazards, turn signals & backup lights still work.

Any ideas? Thanks

Greg

Welcome to the site Greg..

Make sure the fuse in the Central Junction Box (CJB) in position 30 10amp is good. Its the power feed for the H/L switch for tails and panel illumination. There a couple others there for tail lamps/license but if you have a total black out at the back, sides. license, then its either the (30-10amp) or possibly the H/L switch itself. If the fuse proves out good (check for power distribution with a test light on both sides of the fuse) then the next step would be to pull the H/L switch and check/back probe the connector for 12v both coming in, and out of the switch 'prior' to a replacement.. If the fuse checks out, and you want to do some checks at the H/L switch or need help removing it, let me know...
