Power steering pump
I'm going to replace the leaky power steering pump in my fiance's 2000 SE Zetec dohc this weekend. It looks pretty straight forward in the Haynes manual, although it mentions using a special tool to remove one of the hose connections. I haven't had the car up yet to take a look, but is this a tool that I'll need to rent? Or can I get by with common tools? Any other advice would be greatly apprectiatied.
Thanks!
Thanks!
The hose release tool is for the 2.0 SPI fluid cooler line ( I believe).. But you will need the pulley removal/install tool..
Here's a pic of the SPI release tool, the hose released, and then a pick of the Zetec pump showing a standard connection.. Also the pulley/hub tool needed.. And the teflon ring/seal needs to be replaced when ever the hoses is disconnected....
