01 Taurus,radio cuts out in reverse

i have a 2001 ford taurus, only when i put the car in reverse the goes out. what could be the problem.

When the radio, P/S, or P/W cuts out or sometimes an intermittent when selecting Reverse/Drive its the transmission range sensor mounted on the case/lever..
