Does anybody know what would cause a 2003 Expedition to shut down while backing up and now it won't even start up. They replaced the starter and still nothing, checked the fuses still nothing. I had it towed to the Ford Dealership and they are telling me it's the GEM(general electric module) and it's going to cost me $780. Help!!!!!

 

If they are telling you its the GEM module, then i would ask them why it failed. The GEM module is typically something that doesnt fail. And if it is faulty, need to find out what killed it. I would take it somewhere else and get a 2nd opinion.
