Hi. Someone please help... I purchased my FOURTH Edge in December 2023. The ONLY reason I stick with the Ford product is the keypad locking system. I literally have not carried keys in 14 years as I leave my keys in the car and lock the car with the keypad. 14 years of this working. You would think that if you have had three previous Ford Edges, you pretty much know what you're getting on the fourth one, right? Wrong. This one is completely electronic - no buttons for anything other than things that are not overly useful like the radio volume which is easily controlled on the steering wheel. Heat and fan functions require you to actually look away from the road and down/right at the screen/dashboard and hit exact points to change fan volume or temperature. For a 57-year old woman who needs to change temps and fan speed every three seconds, this is not a good design at all. I digress... that is not the reason for this post. SO for 14 years, when I get out of my car and lock it, I have hit the last two buttons on the keypad to lock my car. Then I walk away, come back and unlock it with the keypad code. NOT THIS ONE. The keypad only locks the driver's door. ALSO, the INTERIOR lock button on the inside door only locks the left side of the car so I need to walk to the other side of the car and hit the interior lock button to lock the right-side doors. Sometimes if I am lucky, the keypad will lock all four doors, but not always - and I still need to walk around the car to check and make sure that all four doors are locked. The keypad on this particular model is the electronic version and not the buttons that WORKED PERFECTLY on my last three vehicles. The issue is NOT the actuator or the fuse as I have been on many sites researching this Nothing in the manual to assist either. Anyone have any ideas? I know this is a long post but it's driving me crazy. This is literally the ONLY reason I purchased and have stuck with Ford. THANK YOU!
