ive replaced my brake pedal switch and my brake lights are still staying on. the only way they turn off is when i pull the fuse

 

If you have access to a test lite or voltmeter , check the wires at the switch. One should have power all the time and the other should only have power when the pedal is depressed, providing you have the correct wires. Some switches also are in the cruise control circuit to cancel cruise when you depress the brake pedal.You may need to adjust the position of the switch to get the proper result.
