Question steering wheels

has any out there tryed to put one of the new 15 inch 56 to57 ford thunderbird wheels on a 1968 ford f100?

Default 15 inch steering wheels 56 57 t bird

the smaller wheel would clear my belly and would be similar to original truck steering wheel

OK, I get it...
I needed a new steering wheel for my 62 Country Sedan wagon, I was in the
wrecking yard and saw a 62 Falcon, pulled the wheel, got it home, would not fit
the steering shaft was lager then the Falcon mounting hole...
My point is that they might not fit. not only the diameter could be wrong but also
the keyway cut could be wrong, if it has a key way
Your saying that your steering wheel is not correct for you truck?
sorry I'm not really being helpful.
Any reason not to go aftermarket?
