I everyone. i am considering buying a 1993 ford 250 xlt with a 460. Great condition inside and out. single cab with a camper which is also in great condition. My lady and I want to travel this summer. she has recently gotten sick making regular camping hard. I was hoping this would help us get back to doing what we love and have access to more camping with the comforts that she needs. I am a teacher so i don’t make much and i don’t know a ton about trucks although i am learning and i am pretty handy.

The only mechanical issue is a slight trans leak but it doesn’t seems bad from what i can tell. The owner won’t go lower than 12.5 which seems a little high. it doesn’t have after market air bag suspension that is in great condition.

my neighbor is a pretty good self taught mechanic and said it looks sound.

Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The price does seem a little high to me for a 93. The truck itself is not worth much. You are paying for the camper mostly. For that money it would be worth you paying for an ASE mechanic (not a self taught one) to look over the truck since it is 30 years old. If the seller does not want you to do so, I would walk away from the deal. Expect to use a lot of fuel and do some fixing up on that 30 year old truck before you go to far away places with it..Odometer mileage does not mean much, time is a vehicle's worst enemy. Also, you would be very lucky to achieve 10 mpg with that rig.
