Default 2004 freestar 3.9 Stalling,Trac off and no cruise

2004 freestar 3.9

While driving, Trac off light comes on, cruise becomes disabled and van will stall while driving.it will restart but can stall again In a matter of seconds or minutes.

Have replaced MAF sensor, problem persists.

I am disabled and not able to go to Ford for diag.

Have been told the brake pressure sensor will fix,but from what I've read, the brake pressure sensor doesn't address the stalling, only Trac off and cruise.

I have many DR appointments coming up and the stress from this van is driving me nuts.

PLEASE help :/

I don't know if this is it or not, but has your van been rained on or driven in the rain recently? From reading up on here it looks like if the computer gets wet it can have the car stall and do other weird things. Just a thought. -David

The weather doesn't seem to dictate the failure. It happens wet or bone dry.

When it stalls, it it while the van is stopped in park or at a stop sign or traffic light? Or does it stall while in motion? If it stalls only when in park or stopped at a sign or light, I would suspect a bad IAC (Idle Air Controller). IACs are about $30 set in the open on top of the engine and only require the removal and install of 2 small bolts and 1 connector.

Associated Ford part numbers are: 1L2E9F715AD, 1L2Z9F715AA} & 1L2E9F715AD

It's stalls while in motion and at idle. I can be driving 60mph,stopped at a light or in park.

I'm just grabbing possible scenarios here... Can you hear any bird chirping noises coming from the engine while at idle? If so, it could be your cam synchronizer going bad.

I've heard a belt squeal/chirp once or twice for a brief second as it bogged to a stall while in park. But having this issue for over a year and only hearing that sequel/chirp once or twice, seems very isolated.once again that was only heard as it bogged to a stall In park.
