I've done a lot of Googling and haven't been able to really find a good answer on this. I'm looking to add cruise control to my mom's 05 Freestar S. I see aftermarket kits that come with stalks and I also see the switches for the wheel. I can't seem to find a straight answer, what do I need to install cruise control? I know some vehicle base models have all the components and you just have to install the switches and some don't. I've found tutorial videos for 05 F150s that are just add switches and take to a Ford dealership to flash the computer but I can't find anything for the Freestar. I tried to call my local Ford dealership and they just told me the parts are discontinued and won't touch it. I've also called some local mechanics and they're saying that the universal kits aren't made for the Freestar anymore and won't do an install. However, I find a bunch of them online. So I'm just not really sure what to believe at this point. Thank you for any help you all can provide.
