Default Airbag Error Code.

Hello.

I'm getting an airbag error code in my 2004 Freestar Ltd. On startup the light flashes 6 times, pauses and then flashes 8 times This cycle repeats 3 times and then the light goes solid.
So I guess the error code is 68 or 6-8?
I have found references to many different airbag codes online but never this specific one.
Anyone familiar with this one?

Thanks in advance if you can help me out

Default Found the problem.

I paid $141.00 to have the dealership read the code and they tell me that I need to replace part # 3f2z-14b345-ba. It is a side impact sensor that has been discontinued. The dealership could not order it in for me but I found one on ebay for $80.59. Once I receive and replace it, I'll post the end result here. In case anyone else has a similar problem.

Default Changed the part out and now I have a new code!

I received the part and swapped the old one out. There was a lot of moisture under the rug. It looks like the passenger door weather stripping was askew. The old side impact sensor was a mess.

I dried the rug, cleaned up the bracket and put the new side impact sensor in. Now I have a new sequence from the airbag light.
The airbag light flashes 11 times, pauses and flashes 3 times. This cycle repeats 3 times and then the light goes solid.

The service advisor at the dealership said that it might work or they might have to program it.
