Clunking noise only over bumps - Anyone have lower control arm issues?
Now that it is warmer, I opened the driver's window and began hearing a clunking noise over bumps.
- It only comes from the drivers side (I isolated it by driving over bumps on just one side)
- No "clunking sound" when brakes are applied (I drove over the same bumps by braking with one foot and accelerating with the other).
- No "clunking sound" when turning and no CV joint movement when trying to rock the front wheel by hand vertically and horizontally.
I saw a couple similar issues posted with control arm/ball joint failures where the front axle/suspension separates from the vehicle:
Ford Freestar Suspension - 2004 FORD FREESTAR Problems With Suspension
Has anyone had this problem?
How do I examine/diagnose?
(NOTE: Sway bar link has already been replaced a couple years ago)
