Default freestar fuel economy

For all you Freestar skeptics out there. Just went thru all of Fords hoops for 6 months re: Poor fuel economy on my 7 month old Freestar Limited. Was only averaging 16.5 mpg. What a nightmare. Finally after 6 months I was scheduled a meeting with a Ford engineer. The problem was very simple...UNDERFLATED Goodyear Eagle tires. People this is a bummer. Came from the dealer like this. These tires require 36 PSI and it is very critical. You can lose 1 mpg with every PSI that you are low. Bottom line; we love our FREESTAR LIMITED (our second Ford minivan) for the many safety issues it address and now we love it even more. We are now getting 22-23 mpg on the highway (never saw over 17.5 before). KEEP UP THOSE TIRE PRESSURES PEOPLE. Ken from Arkansas

Ken-

Just bought an 06 Freestar and love it so far. You stated that you had another Ford minivan in the past and I just wanted to know if it was a really reliable car overall. How many miles did you get out of it? What are your Ford minivan complaints/problem areas? Thanks for your insight!
