Default ignition, starter, key

While my van is being work on need to study more about it.
The van came with tiny key. I don't think it had those transponder chip in it. Does the van itself has any security?
My Chevy truck doesn't have the chip but the keys need to be inserted to bypass security. Incase I want to install remote starter in the future.

The key(s) should have a black head on it that contains a transponder chip in it as the Freestar comes from the factory with Ford's "SECURILOCK PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM".
