Default Transmission Slipping

I know it is likely in here somewhere, but I was wondering if my slipping trany could be caused by the faulty torque converter that is under recall. It was working fine but suddenly needs to be rolling down hill to get going. Reverse works fine and the other gears seem to be ok, it just doesn't like to leave a stoplight. It is a 2005 Freestar with a 4.2l engine. I'v read that older transmissions could possibly be used to replace the ones in an 05

Unhappy tranny 2004 freestar

Im having the same problem with my 2004 freestar, by the way I had the recall (converter) done 8 days ago and did not fix the problem, my minivan shift all gears fine when cold but when it gets hot slips a lot specialy btwen 1st and 2nd gear, I also replaced the fluid and filter and did not solve the problem.

Just started having the same problem on our 2004. 110K miles - fluids/filter changed every 40k and also had the torque converter changed out last year. Have an appmt. with a local shop, not going the Ford Dealer route for sure. Will let you know when we know.
