Default Tune up

Hi I have 2005 freestar 4.2L

What is the easyest way to gain access to the rear plugs.
I don't see room under the van.

There are two ways to do the rear plugs. I have done both. The easiest way is to remove the wiper arms, then the upper and lower cowling (Just a few bolts) and unplug the wiper motor. Then the plugs are exposed. Don't forget to reconnect the wiper motor when reinstalling the cowling. The hardest way is to get the front of the vehicle in the air. The left and middle plugs are accessable with a little contortioning by the steering rack. The right rear plug is accessable thru the right wheel well after removing the tire. Use dielectrical grease on the plug ends/wire boots and some copper antisieze on the plug threads.

No problem. Another thing I would do is run Iridium spark plugs. They withstand their enviroment better than platimun spark plugs. Also with a thinner center electrode they require less voltage to jump the gap under compression, thus reducing the electrical load on the ignition system. I will be replacing my plugs, wires and coil this spring on my Freestar.
