why does my 04 freestar stall when idleing
I bet it is more noticeable now that the weather is getting colder................ and tends to stall on the colder mornings while idling only. Once in gear it idles fine?? Check the IAC (Idle Air control valve) mounted just behind the throttle body. Round with 2 wires, I do not know its resistance specs (if someone does please chime in) as I have not located a Chilton for my 06 Freestar yet, but the an older Escorts resistance was between 2000 and 2500 ohms at 40 to 50 degrees. If it is not near there, it is probablely bad.
