2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid transmission problem
My wife and I have a 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid that was purchased used in 2020 and my wife loved the ride and the feel of the car. Ran smooth for 3 years but last week the car got the dreaded wrench dummy light. Had car towed to Ford and they put on machine and it came up DTC POA7A in the TCM. Then they said a PPT was performed and found the transmission to be the cause. They gave me an estimate of $22,000 to fix and I didn’t accidentally add a zero. That’s twenty-two thousand dollars. Could this just be the inverter that’s bad with the error code it's showing? Anybody else have this issue and if so did you get car repaired? I would keep the car if I could fix it for a reasonable amount. Anybody have any mechanical advice on if they believe the whole transmission is bad? A Ford sales rep left me a phone message wanting me to call her back. Do I even want to call her back so the Ford dealer can sell me another car now that's the $22,000 question. Thank You in advance to anyone responding.
Did you ever get a response to this or is this forum dead? I have the same issue and the ford dealer wanted $15000 to fix it. My 2004 fusion was running just fine when the fault light came on and shut it down. I don’t see how the transmission could possibly be bad when it was running down the interstate moments before smoothly. Anyone have any info please?
