Default Car cuts out on a short second start up and won't restart for 30 mins

2016 1.5 litre Fusion

We've had this problem when we got it last year. It's been back to Ford twice who could not figure out the problem. They said maybe the fuel filter so before we change that I thought I'd try in here for any other ideas.

This happened more in the summer but has recently happened on consecutive days which is unusual.

Car would be driven 20 mins or more. I would turn engine off and park and then maybe 5 to 15 mins later I would start the car. It would usually start and then cut out and die as I drive off. Then the car will not start again for around 30 mins. It ticks over but no start. After 30 mins it starts up fine.

Thank you for your time

Kelly

It's doubtful the fuel filter is at fault with your symptom. It is a cheap maintenance item, I would change it anyway. If the dealer thought it was the fuel filter, why didn't they change it???
You will have to use that 30 minute window to find out if you are losing fuel pressure or spark to the plugs and proceed from there. You could try using a small amount of starting fluid into the throttle body and see if the engine tries to run. That may narrow it down some.
