Default Odd Blind Spot Problem 2015 Titanium

I've discovered what seems to be a very odd problem on my 2015 Fusion Titanium. While driving around town, the blind spot indicator works perfectly. The light on the mirror goes on and off when it should. When I'm driving on the interstate at interstate speeds, the driver side indicator seems to have a life of it's own. It's seems to work normally most of the time when a car is overtaking me on the left but it also works constantly when there isn't a car within sight.
It will come on with no cars around and sometimes stay on for 30-45 seconds, then go off. It will do this constantly for hours but just at those higher interstate speeds. Occasionally, when a car passes me, it will stay on for an extended time before going off. I've tried turning it on and off in the settings but that doesn't seem to help.
The passenger sensor never seems to do this, it always works normally, it's just the driver side. I find myself not even using it any longer because I can't rely on it anyway.
I haven't contacted the dealer yet, although I plan to. I can almost imagine his reaction though and probably wouldn't blame him if he didn't believe me.
