Ford has just announced a Ford Fusion Hybrid recall in connection with the computer transitioning beween regenerative braking and regular braking. I don't know if it is related but in November my FFH brakes failed on the freeway. The cruise control was on and when I stepped on the brake peddle it was like there was nothing there. It was as if I had no brake peddle, as if my foot had missed the peddle. I hit the peddle a couple of times more and the car came out of cruise control and I had brakes again. My heart almost stopped in those seconds before the brakes came back. It hasn't happened since.
