Smile 1998 mustang cobra intake manifold runner control

Just got quoted an obscene amount of $$$ to either clean or replace runner control. Had engine rebuilt one year ago. $3900.00 seems a little extreme. Is the Ford dealership doing unnecessary parts/labor? Could it be a vacuum hose?

I think when it goes out there is no fixing it due to the mechanical aspect of it. I know that I was quoted $2000 just for one of them from the East coast. I have the 4.6 98 Cobra that has one single and one DOHC and I found them for $249 online. Don't let them get you the deleted parts because it will still cost a fortune. You can find them yourself online easy. I hope this helped.
