Default 1999 mustang power window problems

The power windows don't work when the doors are closed. If I open the drivers side door to an exact position they all work. I tried manually flipping the door latch to the closed position and the windows quit working. Is there somthing in the door latch that controls this? It makes no sense to me how the windows all of a sudden quit working when the doors are closed.

a real good chance it could be 1 of the wires broken and only making contact when the door is opened to a particular possition, or maybe the harness connector in the door not making a good connection, good luck

^ I agree. Must have a broken wire in the wiring going through the door.

Hi, I am having the same problem with my 1995 Mustang. Also the PDLocks don't work unless the drivers door is open. Door locks do work from passenger side, but windows do not work. If driver's door is open, everything works. Did you track the problem down to a wiring problem inside the drivers door? Thanks in advance.

Angry 1999 Ford Mustang Window Problems

I've been have been having problems with my 1999 mustang windows. Sometime the passenger side window will not go up or down, and the driver side also. Now the driver side completely stop working. I've replaced the window switches. and had the motor tested and it's fine and so are all the fuses and relays. totally frustrated!!! I got the window pulled up manually. and now I don't even let down the passenger side. ggggrrrrr.
