Default 65 mustang

hey i just recently baught a 1965 mustang and the engine was seezed so i got a 302 out of a 86 that is fuel injected that im trying to put in it. i was talking to a friend and he said that the computer off of that car might not work because im not useing the trany off of the other car. he said that the computer has to hook up to the trany and without that hook up the computer wont let the engine wont run. i was wondering if yall know any thing about that?

the trans is not controlled by the computer. You can use that trans without issue. if you plan to use the fuel injection then get the setup from the 87 up. The newer version is better and has better options for controlling. Mustang depot has the parts you need to do this install and make it mostly plug and play
