Question How to replace Hood Hinge Stud?

Can anyone provide advice on how to change a hood hinge stud on the hood of my 2001 Mustang GT?

Each hinge has two bolt studs that come down from the back of the hood that are bolted to the hinge. One of the two studs on the drivers side broke flush at the bottom of the hinge. The stud is actually a hex headed bolt with the head between the hood surface and the hood structural panel underneath. I was able to purchase a replacement stud from a local dealership. The dealer does not have a body shop (small town) and was unfamiliar with how to replace.

There is no obvious way that I see to get at this bolt inside the hood to change it. Looking for advice. The hood is newly painted and I don't want to damage it in the process.
