ok so its been really cold out lately..and then yesterday it got hot and my car started idling really rough and felt like it was going to die..
what would that be? is it just the engine recalibrating for the less dense air or something?

 

This is possible, but if you drive it for a few miles (10-20) the computer should recalibrate itself. When was the last time the car had a tune-up?
