Did you put the flowmaster and the x-pipe on at the same time? Is it loud all the time or just when you get on it? I've heard that an X pipe and flowmaster together is pretty loud. I dont mind the sound, but the wife drives it to, I don't want it too loud.
Any other mods that you'd recomend?

I have had excellent results with the Bassani X-pipe. When I had my Mustang I used the X-pipe with 2 champer flowmasters and turndowns, no tailpipes. I loved the sound, however it was quite a bit louder than stock, even when I wasn't in it. The sound was great, but if thats not what you looking for, I wouldn't recommend that combo. I also had BBK full length headers and they made quite a differance in the sound. Without the headers, the sound wasn't very loud, actually it really sucked. Depending on what your looking to do, the exhaust without headers may be a good starting point. The mods are endless!!! What are you looking to do?

I'm thinking that I'll go with the X-pipe, and then if I want more, I'll go with the Flowmaster. I'd like to go with some headers too, but I don't want to have to take them off to smog it. Damn California smog laws! My goal is to make 300 hp with bolt on only. I've heard that the GT doesn't respond all that well to simple bolt on upgrades, and that if I want some real power to go with a procharger, or similar setup. UNfortunately that will void my warranty. I think that I can get 300 ponies out of my PONY with intake and exhaust, and switching all lubes to synthetics. What do you think?

If all your looking for is 300 hp, even at the rear wheels, you have a very easy goal to shoot for. I would still recommend the Bassani x-pipe and if the 2 chamber flowmasters are too loud for you taste, anything will flow more than stock. Possibly look into some 3 chamber flowmasters or any of the other of the many options available. I have not done much work with an '03, but if you do the exhaust right and get a decent cold air intake, it should take nothing more than a slight tune from a decent programmer to obtain your 300 HP goal, even if your looking for the 300 hp at the wheels as to the flywheel! If thats the case, you may want to look into bama chips. If he has something available for your application, you will find no better. 300-400 hp is easy, it starts to get a bit more involved and expensive if you want more.

Is the bama a tuner, or is it just a chip? B/C I'd like to get a couple of tunes for it. How much $ does a bama run for?

They have both. There programmer comes with 3 different tunes on it. I think they go for approx. $300-$350.
