Great idea!
Here's one I restored a few years back (sold though ;(
It belonged to my neighbor for many years and he had changed the fuel filter leaving the hose loose and started an engine fire that turned into a wiring fire in the dash. Prior to him, it belonged to another neighbor kid who's parents bought it new as a grad present.
I pestered him for a few years to sell, and he finally gave'r up. Paid 800.00 for it Just surface rust (he used to rub Vaseline on the bare area's) and one small area on the passenger floor because he left the window down a bit. Engine was rebuilt (had a bent rod) from sitting and was tortured for a few years. Most everything else was fine, and was actually reasonably low mileage. Dash needed a pad, and of course wiring repaired, as well as a trimmed and detailed inside. One seat cover and carpet. Paint and body I completed, but after all the body work and mechanical was done, I took a few months off before shooting the paint and final assembly.. Rear slats and spoiler I added.
Its a 70 MACH I, 351 C 4V, 4 spd. posi. The build took about 2 years but was a fun car.
