putting together a stock 302

I have an 88 mustang that i has a 5.0 i tore engine down tp put all new seals and gaskets in it and im to the point of setting my push rods. it has hydraulic lifters and i was told you have to set them and someone else told me you just torque them to 22ft lbs what is true:confused:

Welcome to the site

Their non adjustables. The rocker stud is shouldered and only need to be torqued. Torque ranges depending on who you ask,, may be 17-23, 18-24, but generally around 20lbs. Make sure the studs/nuts are lubed with engine oil when tightening..

22 is fine, overtightening can damage the nut/stud..
