Default road race engine?

thinkin of doin a road racing coupe. not sure on what engine to use. my buddy told me to go to a junkyard and pull out the engine/trans from a wrecked fox body. but i might wanna stay with the original 302. wat should i do to get th most power out of it that would be best for road racing? i kno i will most likely need a dry sump setup, but wat kind of heads, cam, pistons, etc should i go with if i keep my 302?thanks

Trust me, keep the 302. It's good enough for most of us racing guys.

Are you planning on leaving it naturally aspirated or are you going to make it forced induction?
