Default Throttle body spacers

Sorry if this thread has been covered, but I searched and couldn't find anything helpful.

Has any one installed a throttle body spacer on a late model GT (2000+)? What kind of results did you get, was it worth the $?
Thanks!

Yeah the spacers are not worth it. I had a 01 Silverado 5.3 liter and all it helped with was taking money out of my pocket. I don't know about models under 05's, but from what I have been reading for the 05's and 06's, replacing the throttle bodies are also a waste of money.

I don't know about the 05 and 06 throttle body but i've heard its a good upgrade, I wouldn't put money in to it I would just get a cold air intake system.

Also I've heard on the 05+ if you change the air filter (like to a K&N) you have to get the computer reprogramed or the check eng. light comes on.

Yes, from what I read, that adding a CAI that it needs to be tuned. the system made by K&N though says it doesn't need to be tuned to use it because they keep the same size tube. But can add alot more if tuned. But all the others need to be to run correctly

I don't know why Ford did that to a car that gets tuned all the time.

A tune, just for a CAI? Are you kidding? So I'm guessing that an off-road H, and flowmasters would require a tune as well???

I've read that a CAI doesn't add any more performance benefit that a K&N air filter alone does. In that case, the K&N airfilter would be the best bang for the buck ($50-$70 as opposed to $120+).

An off road H Pipe and headers yes, If you get an axle back, no. They have said over on MF that aftermarket mufflers only gain 1 to 2 HP's. That they are mostly to get a different sound.

Only 1 to 2 horse for a couple hunderd dollar investment? That hardly sounds worth it. It seems hard to believe that it will only get you a couple extra HP, because on both of the trucks that I put Flowmaster on I felt a difference and saw MPG gains of about 1 MPG. If I could feel the difference it had to have made more than 1-2 HP. I'm not that attuned to a vehicle to be able to sense a 1-2 HP gain. I'd like to see where that statistic came from. Could you post a link to the MF forum where that came from? Thanks.
