Default wierd problem

ok I am a mechanic deployed in afghanistan now.
I have a 2004 Mustang GT 2valve 4.6L v8 with a auto.
69,000 miles.
Wife (not mechanically knowlegable ) says that engine is hard to start. some times engine turns over longer than used to when turn key. just few weeks battery died from natural use. battery changed...ok next. one day she came to car. turned key and car turned over but no start. she says that when that happened the car rolls back. but i think she is either not in park like she should, or something happened to tranny. also she could have been exagerating the roll because she parks on a incline driveway.
im also thinking battery was not connected tight enough. thats why power cutting out.

any thoughts on this so i can be prepaired? got to make a trip to nebraska and a stop back through norwalk ohio to Virginia apon return to states
