Default 15" wheel, tire scrub

I have a 91 Ranger 2wd. I just bought 15x7 wheels off a 2002 edge ranger and the 235/75/15 tires scrub with a little bump, like when I pull into my driveway. What tire size do I need so they get clearance and not scrub. Also the stock wheel I took off was 14x6, 215/70/14. I think a 215/75/15 should work without scrubbing.?
Thanks.

Thumbs up

If your trying to get the largest tire possible to fit, back in the day we used to mount up a couple sizes and check for clearances. Most tire shops will accommodate you if your buying a set from them. If your installing or going used, staying in the OE range should clear depending on wheel offset.

Thanks Haya. That is good advice. I went back with the stock size tire 215/70/ but in 15" and they work well and look good. I might have gotten away with going 215/75/15 but the garage was needing their lift. Wheels look great compared to the stock 14". I might put a picture on here later. Thanks for your input.

Ok here are the pic of my 91 ranger XLT. 5K mi on the 4.0 Jasper Engine runs great. Life time Guaranteed on Auto tranny. New headliner, new instrument cluster, New Windshield, New Mirrors, new Sony Stereo, new head lights and tail lights. New brakes all around.
Like new 15x7 ranger wheels & new tires. etc etc. over 400K miles on the original engine that still ran great. This truck is in VG condition and the new wheels make it.
I bought it new in 91 and it has never been wrecked...........

Don't be sorry, I'd be proud of that vehicle as well. I wish I had something that was paid off and in good shape.
