I'm trying to help out a freind. He has a 1986 Ranger XL 2.9 Manual. It appears that his ECU is toast. I've tried the dealer (part no longer available) and junk yards to no avail. The part number on his ECU is E8TF-12A650-U1A this part number no longer exists in Ford's eyes and they don't show a superceded part number either. While contacting junk yards the only part number we could come up with for a 86 is E6TF-2A650-C2D. So the question is: Will the junk yard computer work or do any of you know where I can get the rite one?
