Default 1990 Ranger Fuel Guage issue

I purchased a used 1990 Ford Ranger (2.3L) and the fuel guage does not work. Filled the tank after on my way home but it did not register. About the third fill-up noticed that while filling the dispensing nozzle kept shutting off as if the tank was full but I know that it is not.

I know I need to check the electrical lines to see if the guage is working but before I crawl under, I was wondering if anyone call tell me where I would find the location on the tank. Is it one the side or on top?

I suspect the slow fill issue might be related.

Any help would be appreicated and thank you in advance.

Top of the tank, check other post under 93 explorer. The same diagnostics apply.
