1991 ford ranger clutch
Clutch has probably met it's live usage. These use a self-adjusting clutch. When thefriction plates get worn down, the self adjuster keeps the clutch from adjusting any further to keep the rivets and metal clutch surface from meeting the pressure plate and flywheel and gouging their surface area. This way, you only need a new clutch. In the old days when clutches were manually adjusted, one normally trashed and had to replace the clutch, pressure plate and fly wheel (been there, done that). Remember to install a new throw-out bearing when replacing the clutch.
Should be able to put it gear and start the engine to move the vehicle. you can always push it out of gear to stop. If in the 1500 RPM range, you should be able to shift into the next gear without the clutch. That's how I drove my 88 Ranger S/C to the dearship to have my clutch replaced years ago with the MITZY tranny.
