Default 1997 ranger 2.3 startor problems

I replaced my startor three times, twice with a rebuilt startor. And after a couple days it would not start. I got the slicking sound from relay. New battery relay chedked out good even put another one on. I gives me a selnoid problem. all cables are clean also. Has anyone had this problem before, I just put a new startor on monday. Can't trust that this is the problem.

ok , did you have the battery LOAD TESTED ? , A low battery , even with one of the cells either low or failed will cause, the very problem stated , As Starters get older an more used they need more current to get them to work so if you have a problem in the system it makes for slow cranking , or no engagement of starter. I have seen a good many Ford starter relays fail due to a low voltage problem , what happens is the disc inside the relay just starts chattering causing it to burn the contacts., I dont know if the truck has had a starter before if not the old one lasted 8 yrs , Its very possible that you just got faulty rebuild's. I hate to say it but thats also a problem you run into with discount chain auto part store's , there are several I refuse to use for Any type automotive electric rebuilt parts - due to the fact that I have had such a high failure rate on their product,,, As you have seen you get tired of doing the same job over an over due to a faulty part I dont care what kinda warranty you get with it. If you have to do the job more than once its cost you TOO MUCH MONEY .......
