1999 2.5L engine stalls
I have a 99 ranger with the 2.5L engine with a 5 speed manual trans. The engine is extremely rough when first starting out all the time. It doesn't matter if the truck was driven all day, it is still rough. It has know power in any gear. Once I am up to speed it seams fine. But as I let off the gas and press the clutch to downshift, the RPMs drop and the engine starts to shake and stalls out unless I hit the gas and bring the RPMs back up again. I have replaced the plugs, wires and fuel filter. I unplugged the IAC and the idle just slowed, which should be right. But I removed it and cleaned it just to be sure. I also adjusted the idle screw just a littel to see if it would make any change, it didn't. It sounds like a lack of fuel or air. I have not heard of this problem before. If anyone has any idea, it would be a great help.

I cleaned the throttle body and the TPS is new. I also just cleaned the mass air flow sensor. I think it may be the injectors. They may be dirty. The engine just shakes and almost stall when I lift my foot off the gas to shift and the RPMs drop. I am going to pull them this week and clean them. I will also test the TPS to see if it is not bad.
