Question 2002 Ford Ranger Starting Problem

I Ran into a ditch not hard but enough to pop the inertia switch i clicked it back in and now when i turn the key i have power to the lights and radio all that but not even a click out of the starter when i turn the key somebody took a screwdriver n tested the starter it cranked but when i turn the key nothing any ideas ?

is it a man transmission or auto if its auto there is a switch that tells it is in park you can try moving the shifter to neutral and see if will start

its a man transmission ive heard the auto thing but sadly its a standard any other ideas?

does it have the switch where the clutch has to be pressed in to start

forgot to say that i have a limited knowledge of vehicles so i dont know about the switch but i know ive always had to press the clutch in to start it so i would think there prolly is something like that

im not sure where it is it might be under the dash at the pedal there is a way to unhook it i dont know how. but im sure sombody on here can tell you how to check it. if thats not the problem somebody will have another ideal maybe

ok so you think it might be the clutch switch?

not sure but i would try to check it .also look and see if any loose wires going to starter selnoid ( excuse the spelling)

make sure the little wire is still attached to solenoid
