Default 98 Ford Ranger

Code # P1409 came up when we check on my 98 Ranger. I replaced the DPFE sensor (F77Z-9J460-AB) & control valve (F63Z-9J459-AA). The check engine light continues to come on after we erased it. Do you think it could possibly be the EGR valve?

I also have a problem with the interior light staying on all the time and the key chime (ding, ding, ding, etc.) sounding long after I have shut the door. Any ideas?

my best friend had an 95 ranger with similar problems (the shime) it came on and off at will, it was an electricalproblem not covered by the warranty and it cost almost $150 to get fixed money well worth it if asked me!
