Default 99 Off Road Shocks

I have a 99 2wd ranger and need new shocks. Someone said i should get some off road shocks to give me a little lift. How much lift are we talking about and what type of shocks am i looking for? I did a search but turned up little results. Any specific brands or sizes i should look for? Also while lookin i found a body lift for cheap. How hard is that to install? It looks like it is just unscrewing old bolts adding spacers and putting new bolts in. Is this correct?

yeah body lifts are simple, but you need to extend the steering shaft, and whoever told you that you should get "off road shocks to make your truck bigger" doesn't know what they're talking about, if you want to make your truck bigger you need to buy a suspension lift kit, it's quite the job to install though

I had a 99 2wd ranger and put a Fabtech 5 1/2" lift on it. Looked real good but drove like a tank. The body lift is the cheap way to go but if you want to do it right go for the suspension. If you are good with tools you can install yourself, took me about 13 hours to do, but unless you have an impact you would need to take it somewhere and get everything torqued down to specs.
