You can, it won't hurt anything. Or you can purchase a Shumacher 1.5 amp automatic battery charger/maintainer for $20-30 and connect it to the battery. Then just leave the battery in the vehicle. Quick and simple. I use the Shumacher model #SC1300 on our 2010 MKZ and I use the Autozone brand (Shumacher model #SC1355, just branded Autozone) on my 2015 F-150 that sets in Arizona for months on end with no issues. I also have one of the Autozone branded units on our 2016 Fusion. I also had a Shumacher model #SC1300 on my Generac 17KW generator since 2000. Have had no issue with the units or battery not being able to start the engines after months of setting (6+ months at a time).
