Default Best transmission fluid for 5 speed

I have a 94 ranger and I am about to do a clutch job, so I will be changing the fluid any way. I have ask different people what fluid it takes. Some people say use ATF or synthetic ATF others say use synthetic gear oil. I don't have the owners manual so I don't know. So what is the best to use in a ranger?

The 1994 Ranger requires ATF in the manual and automatic transmissions. I would go with a quality synthetic ATF. The transmission will have reduced wear, be quieter and run cooler internally.
