Center support Bearing Replacement

I have a center support bearing going on the drive shaft on a 97 Ranger SC. Is this something that can be done in the garage? How big a deal is it to do yourself?

All you need is an air hammer to drive it off with and a piece of exhaust pipe just the right size to drive it back on with.

it should be pressed back on and not hammered on but if you dont have access to a press then you have no choice but to hammer it back on

recomend you go to the local parts store and borrow the tool, they usually take a small deposit and they refund it back once you return the tools. if you hammer the bearing it it damage it if it goes in wrong!

The piece of pipe that you will use should just fit the inside race. This way it does not touch or damage the bearing. Done a jillion of them and not one has come back, still using the same piece of pipe.

thats good, but it is to find that right piece of pipe and when you have done alot of them it makes it much easier also
