Default Crankshaft pulley and Timing belt

I am trying to change the timing belt in my 93 Ford Ranger...I am needing to take the crankshaft pulley off but don't know what size of pulley I need. Does anyone know anything more about the crankshaft pulley and changing the timing belt? Would love anymore information on how this is done.

Thanks.
Carrie

First thing you should get is chilton'd because it gives a break down and how to dos. But on most gear assemblies you wil need a gear puller wich runs about 5-30 dollars. If you have a harbor freight and tool I would check there first. I'm suprised you need to remove the pulley though usuually there is one of three types of tensioners that have to be removed, loosened or forced out of the way. If the tensioner pully has to be remove it's a two to three inch diameter pully inside the timing belt cover that either has a special pulley bar to remove it or it has a nut in the dead canter. Please double check some litterature before you try and remove the crankshaft pully. There a pain to put back on in the engine compartment
