Default dpfe problems

i have a 95 Ranger and like most posts ive seen on here.. the check engine light came on. a friend of mine that works at a repair shop checked the code and it was egr/dpfe problem. this is my problem... i called ford dealer and they want 129.00 for the dpfe. is there another fix for this? i just dont have the $ for that. possible to clean it etc? ive noticed a heck of a difference in overall performance since it has been this way. Can someone give me some help or point me in the right direction for a cheaper part/fix??? thanks!

I believe that yours takes the very expensive aluminum DPFE sensor. You can get one for about 50% less at ROCKAUTO.COM
