Default Electrical Hell

Ok so I have a 99 Ranger, for awhile the left blinker indicator light would stay on from time to time. Sometimes it happened sometimes it didn't. Then yesterday things got really weird, when I would hit the brakes the clock/radio would dim pretty badly. Nowtonight I get in to go to work and my backlighting behind my spedometer and stuff, and the lighting on the heating control stuff doesnt work. Now on my way home from work I find out my brake lights dont work anymore.

HEadlights, dome light and electronic locks all work still if that matters.

Total confusion! Any ideas on what to check would be great, college is expensive, dont really have a ton of cash to throw down at a repair shop.

Thanx Guys! Great forum, even though its my first post I love reading everything and trying to learn as much as possible.

Check under the dash for ground wires. Check every where for ground wires. Inspect the grounds, that they are tight and free of corrosion or rust. If possible losen ground and scuff with sandpaper reattach and coat with paint.

do you have a tow package on your truck? if so, try cleaning your wiring harness for your trailer lights, i know it sounds stupid but my buddy had the exact same problem on his full size 95, and he replaced the wiring harness and that was the problem, i'm not guaranteeing a fix, just throwing it out there as an idea
