Default Ford Ranger straight pipe?

I have a 1996 4 cylinder ford ranger and i wanted to know if i were to straight pipe it, if that would lower the gas mileage or not. also if it would add more power.

It won’t effect your mileage, all you are doing is alowing more airflow. The only way that it would effect your mileage would be , that you might drive faster and step on the gas to hear the sound.

Not sure how or why that new members post was missed, and glad you responded.

That authored post is over 8 years old.

Straight piping affects, would depend on if partial or full..

That 96 Ranger is likely in the junkyard by now.
