Default Fuse Problem

I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge and am having problems with the fuse box. A few days ago my truck wouldn't go into gear with the motor running. If it is in accessory mode it would. So I took out a fuse (I can't remember which one right now) but then it would work. I know if you take the fuse out for the alternator, it will work, but I can't drive without the alternator. Has anyone had this problem?

check your fuse again, there is a fuse that controls the park lock safety switch and when it blows you can not get it in gear.

The fuse did blow, but it keeps blowing, it's supposed to be a 7.5, but I put a 10 in there and it hasn't blown it yet. Is this ok?

To get by, but you want to check it out and find the intermittent short.
