this is my first time here and just wanted to say hi to everyone.
i just bought my first ford. its a 03 ford ranger 4.0 4x4. so far i'm really impressed
with it. just one question though, i've notice that the speedometer goes clear up to
120 but the the pickup governs out at a whopping 92. just wondering why and if i can
raise it. its not like i would drive that fast all the time. it's just that if it says it will then
it should. any imput is alway appreciated.

Hummm, I know in the early 80's alot of the cars speedo's stopped at 80 MPH , An folks didnt like that , knowing their car could do well over 80 MPH,,, I think 92 is fast enough unless Iam on a closed track ., As far as faster on the newer cars the computher have built in rev. limiters. that shut off the fuel to the injectors . If you want faster , there's allkinda stuff out there, Probaly the quickest an cheapest would be a NOX system, its all limited by how deep your pockets are , but you gotta remember you got a truck an not a race car , A ranger would more than like'y be kinda " SPOOKY " to handle at 100MPH +,, Buckle Up ,. I believe you can buy a tuner that can raise that limit, but [:-] 92MPH.
I member my '83 Ranger, 2.3L with some mods, we gave a Supra one he!! of a run for its money 120MPH [8D] donna know what I was thinking, do know how I was feeling

I know , I know ,,,, Get a GT40--- yea man, cool , an put a p/u body on it !!!! ( or if you got another body style in mind ) I saw an old Pinto Surfer Wagon the other day some one restored . No One would be the wiser till you let it RIP.,, that would be a SLEEPER !!!!,, put some mud on the rear quarter panels , install a ladder rack on the bed. ( it would really be an roll cage however ) Have a CD of Johnny Cash playing I fell into a burning ring of fire .Think we could get someone to donate us a GT40 kinda like a promo deal ????? . wheres thats Sponsor's phone #[sm=gears.gif]

well... i'm not looking to kill myself, but it would be alot of fun. i looked into tuners for my vehicle and i couldn't get a clear answer on whether or not it would increase the govener or not, plus i'm not ready to run only premium fuel in my vehicle with these prices[:'(]
